Due to the continued expansion of an established quality surveying and project management company, they are now seeking to fill an exciting senior leadership position open for a Lead Software Developer (DevOps) to join them as they grow their in-house, work management solution to their external clients via the cloud, based on SaaS model.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic, talented senior person in the team to mentor the development team and project manage customer implementations in an agile team. To build a customer work management platform solution. The role is hybrid combining home working with the office in Chorley.

You will alongside the Manager of the product as their number 2 (assistant) to define and develop new and existing software features, and implementations. The role will have some customer-facing responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Lead Software Architect will be:

  • Working as part of the development team to produce applications across web, mobile, and server services
  • Working with the Infrastructure Manager to lead the development, reporting, and analysis functions across the business
  • Primarily working with the development team to produce applications across web, mobile, and server
  • Writing code that adheres to our development standards and applications that adhere to our security guidelines
  • Looking for better and more efficient ways to work
  • Working with users and testing teams to ensure quality at every stage
  • Peer reviewing code as part of a team.
  • Maintaining existing software and assisting with the infrastructure team as part of a DevOps environment
  • Working with the Reporting and Analysis teams to ensure that our databases and reports are performing correctly
  • Project Management of system implementation projects including client liaison, requirements gathering, specification writing and test plan management
  • Maintenance of our core infrastructure both on-site and in the cloud, including networking, telephony, and routing equipment, plus PaaS components such as Azure App Service and AzureSQL DB
  • Working with the senior team to pursue new opportunities for the product – presenting to potential clients and completing requests for proposals and information
  • Assisting with Adhoc requests from the wider business
  • Assisting with the analysis functions of the wider business
  • Writing code that adheres to the development standards and applications that adhere to the security guidelines
  • Looking for better and more efficient ways to work
  • Working with the users and testing teams to ensure quality at every stage
  • Maintaining existing software and assisting with the infrastructure team as part of a DevOps environment.
  • Peer reviewing of the code as part of the team collaboration.

Key skills of the Lead Software Architect include:

  • C# .Net Technology background
  • HTML, CSS, MVC
  • Entity Framework (or equivalent)
  • Azure DevOps
  • MS SQL Server (T-SQL)
  • Creating & consuming REST web services
  • Commercially participating in the development of a software
  • An ability to work independently and as part of the team
  • Willingness to learn new languages, technologies, and tools.
  • Enthusiasm and a desire to learn are key to a successful candidate.

 

Any of the following skills are a major benefit:
