IT Support Technician. 1/2nd line end-user
Description
My client is seeking a skilled 1st IT Support Engineer to join our team in the UK based out of Prestwich, Manchester.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting 50 users in a team of 3, responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our internal users in a timely and professional manner. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication and IT capabilities.
Key Responsibilities for the IT Support Technician:
- Provide first-line technical support to internal users via phone, email, and in-person.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and applications.
- Collaborate with other IT team members to escalate and resolve complex issues.
- Manage user accounts and permissions in various systems.
- Assist with the setup and configuration of IT equipment for new hires.
- Document support procedures, solutions, and system configurations.
- Assist in maintaining IT inventory and asset management.
- Stay up to date with technology trends and best practices.
- Provide occasional out of hours support as required.
The skills Required from the IT Support Technician:
- Proven experience as a 1st IT Support Engineer or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 and other productivity applications.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-oriented mindset with a focus on providing exceptional service.
Salary – up to £30,000. Commensurate to experience + hybrid working, bens etc
Location: Prestwich, Manchester (Hybrid - Office / Work from Home) Initially required to work 3 days per week in the office which may reduce depending on candidate experience.
